The office of Andhra deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan, reportedly received threatening calls and abusive messages from an unidentified individual. The caller is said to have threatened to harm the deputy CM and used offensive language in both calls and text messages.
In a related incident, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha also received a call from the same number, which she did not answer.
The staff of the deputy chief minister’s office quickly notified senior police officials about the incident. However, as of Monday night, the police had confirmed that no formal complaint had been filed regarding the matter.
Home minister Anitha spoke with the DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, who updated her on the calls made by the unidentified individual. The home minister instructed the DGP to capture the perpetrators and enforce strict action against them.
The police have reportedly launched a thorough investigation into the incident to identify the caller and guarantee the safety of public officials.
