Amaal Mallik Addresses Salman Khan Bias Claims on Bigg Boss 19: ‘Most of the Scolding Didn’t Make the Final Cut’

Composer and Bigg Boss 19 contestant Amaal Mallik has responded to long-standing claims on social media that show host Salman Khan was biased in his favour during the reality show.

In a recent interview, Amaal clarified that while viewers may have perceived leniency, much of the criticism he received from Salman Khan was not aired during the popular Weekend Ka Vaar episodes.

‘It’s a Perception Linked to Family Legacy’

Speaking to Zoom, Amaal addressed the belief that Salman’s past association with his family influenced his treatment on the show.

“I think this is a perception because we come from a legacy family. My father and uncle have worked with Salman Khan, and I’ve done a few songs as well. There is a professional relationship,” Amaal said.

However, he firmly denied receiving special treatment.

“It’s not like he picked me up and said, ‘My son, you did very well.’ That’s not how it works,” he added.

Why Viewers Didn’t See Everything

Amaal revealed that only a fraction of the feedback he received was telecast, as the show must balance screen time among all contestants.

“If people think I got 30% scolding, I actually got 70%. But if everything was shown, the episode would revolve only around me,” he explained.

He added that the final edit is controlled by the channel and production house.

“I’m sorry if things didn’t make the cut. That’s in the hands of Colors and Endemol, not mine,” Amaal said.

Salman Khan Also Responded to Bias Allegations

During the season, Salman Khan himself addressed accusations of partiality.

“In Amaal’s case, I’ve said things to him that I’ve never said to any contestant before. People think I’ve been partial, but I’m not bashing anyone — I’m correcting them,” Salman said on the show.

Amaal’s Bigg Boss 19 Journey

Amaal Mallik remained one of the most discussed contestants of Bigg Boss 19, often making headlines for his volatile reactions and his friendship with Shehbaaz Badesha.

Throughout the season, Salman Khan faced online backlash from some viewers who believed Amaal was favoured. However, both Amaal and Salman have now clarified that what aired on television did not fully reflect what happened behind the scenes.

The Bigg Boss 19 finale, held on December 7, brought the season to a close amid continued discussions around editing, perception, and fairness on reality television.
