Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of an auto rickshaw driver in the Ama Bus accident near Rupali Square.
He conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and announced Rs 4 lakh assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The Chief Minister also wished a speedy recovery for the injured student. He raised concerns over repeated accidents involving Ama Bus services and directed the Transport Department to coordinate with CRUT to improve safety standards.

Majhi emphasised the need to enhance driver skills through regular training programs. He instructed officials to design modules that focus not only on technical ability but also on physical health, mental well-being, and cultivating a sensitive attitude among drivers.
He further ordered Motor Vehicle Inspectors to conduct routine fitness checks of Ama buses. The Commerce and Transport Department will form a dedicated squad to monitor bus fitness and ensure compliance. Majhi advised the department to carry out regular reviews to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
Meanwhile, CRUT announced Rs 2 lakh aid for the victim’s family. Police confirmed the arrest of the Ama bus driver involved in the collision.
