In a shocking incident, Sudhanshu Khuntia, a lab assistant at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, who was fired at by unidentified miscreants while on his way to duty earlier this morning, has succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
According to reports, the attack took place near the Khandagiri area when Khuntia was heading to the institute. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors tried to save him, but he later passed away due to the severity of his injuries.
The Khandagiri police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the attackers. Officers are scanning CCTV footage from the area to trace the culprits and determine the motive behind the crime.
Police officials said multiple teams are working on different leads, and further details will be shared once preliminary findings are confirmed.
