AIIMS Bhubaneswar has secured the 12th position in the prestigious India Today-MDRA Best Medical Colleges Survey 2025.
The institute also clinched the 2nd spot among the Top 10 Emerging Medical Colleges in the country.
This leap marks a substantial rise from its 25th position in 2021, demonstrating AIIMS Bhubaneswar’s exceptional growth trajectory. Its consistent performance across key metrics like academic excellence, infrastructure, leadership development, and placement opportunities earned it a place among India’s most elite medical institutions.
Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas lauded the recognition, calling it “a reflection of our relentless pursuit of excellence.” He emphasised the institute’s dedication to innovation, trust, and integrity in healthcare delivery and medical education.
The rankings, determined by India Today in collaboration with Marketing & Development Research Associates (MDRA), evaluated colleges on five vital parameters—governance, academic strength, infrastructure, leadership training, and career progression.
To commemorate the achievement, a felicitation ceremony was organised on campus, attended by senior faculty members, including Dr. Soubhagya Kumar Jena (Dean, Examinations), Dr. Dillip Kumar Parida (Medical Superintendent), and Dr. Sudipta Kumar Singh (Registrar), along with several distinguished academicians.
This milestone also carries forward the visionary legacy of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who championed the establishment of AIIMS institutions to bridge regional healthcare disparities. Today, AIIMS Bhubaneswar is not only realising that vision but is also setting national benchmarks in the medical education ecosystem.
