Ahmedabad witnessed a tragic aviation disaster today as an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel, claiming five lives and injuring dozens.

The flight, carrying 242 people, failed to achieve lift-off shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, leading to the catastrophe.

Eyewitness accounts paint a grim picture of the aftermath, with students caught off guard as the aircraft tore through the building while they were having lunch. The crash resulted in widespread panic and destruction, leaving medical professionals stunned. Emergency services were quick to respond, and rescue operations are still underway.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, while Air India has set up a passenger hotline for affected families. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, calling the tragedy “heartbreaking beyond words” and assuring necessary support for the victims.

As officials work to determine the cause of the crash, the nation remains shaken by the devastating event.
