Veteran actor Mukul Dev, known for his versatile work across Hindi, Punjabi, South Indian cinema, and television, has passed away at the age of 54.
The exact cause of his death remains unknown.
The news of his demise was confirmed by actor Vindu Dara Singh, who paid tribute on social media, writing, “Rest in peace my brother #MukulDev! The time spent with you will always be cherished and Son Of Sardaar 2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing!”
Vindu also told India Today that Mukul had become reclusive after the passing of his parents and had been hospitalized recently due to deteriorating health. “He was an amazing person, and we will all miss him,” he said.
Actress Deepshika Nagpal expressed her shock, saying she couldn’t believe Mukul was gone. Actor Manoj Bajpayee also shared a heartfelt message, calling Mukul “a brother in spirit” and praising his warmth and passion: “Gone too soon, too young. Praying for strength and healing for his family… Miss you meri jaan… until we meet again, Om Shanti.”
Born on September 17, 1970, in New Delhi, Mukul Dev began his acting journey in 1996 with the television show Mumkin, followed by his film debut in Dastak alongside Sushmita Sen. Over the years, he became a familiar face in multiple film industries, earning respect for his dynamic performances.
Mukul’s final film appearance will be in Son Of Sardaar 2, leaving behind a legacy that spans languages and genres. His sudden demise marks a deep loss for Indian cinema.
