New Delhi: India’s first needleless COVID-19 vaccine ZyCov-D has been launched in Bihar’s Patna, according to reports.
Manufactured by pharmaceutical company Zydus group, ZyCoV-D is a three-dose vaccine administered intradermally. The three doses will be given at intervals of 28 days and 56 days.
The concerned vaccine is being administered at three vaccination centres in Patna- Patliputra Sports Complex, Polytechnic College and Gurunanak Bhawan.
ZyCov D is a plasmid DNA vaccine, which means it is a vaccine that uses a genetically engineered, non-replicating version of a type of DNA molecule known as a ‘plasmid.” It is the world’s first DNA vaccine.
