The Odisha Vigilance on Monday launched simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Bhanja Kishore Behera, former Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) of Tirtol Block, in connection with an alleged misappropriation of government funds exceeding ₹3 crore.
The searches are being conducted in connection with Cuttack Vigilance Police Station Case No. 30 of 2026, registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018, according to the Odisha Vigilance.
Behera, who was earlier posted as an SRA at Tirtol Block and is presently working as an SRA at Naugaon Tahasil in Jagatsinghpur district, was arrested in connection with the case.
Six locations under search
The anti-corruption agency is conducting searches at six premises associated with Behera and his family or relatives.
These include a double-storey residential building measuring approximately 7,000 sq ft at Patenigaon under Raghunathpur police station limits in Jagatsinghpur.
A tent house measuring around 4,000 sq ft, also located at Patenigaon, is among the premises being searched. Vigilance officials are also searching another double-storey building measuring approximately 3,000 sq ft in the same area.
The accused’s present office at Naugaon Tahasil is also under search.
Officials are additionally conducting a search at his previous place of posting at the Tirtol Block Development Office (BDO).
The sixth location is the house of a relative at Sanakorkora village under Raghunathpur police station limits.
The Odisha Vigilance said the searches were continuing and that a detailed report would follow.
