In its fourth phase, the “SUBHADRA” scheme has covered over 98 lakh beneficiaries as of February 8, 2025. An additional 18 lakh beneficiaries were added in this phase.

Role of NPCI: The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) played a crucial role in ensuring direct payment to beneficiaries. They helped identify Payment Ready Beneficiaries, reducing payment failures.

Eligibility Requirements: To receive payments under the SUBHADRA scheme, beneficiaries must:

  • Have a single holder bank account.
  • Link their account to their Aadhaar number.
  • Ensure the account is DBT enabled.
  • Complete their eKYC through biometric methods on the SUBHADRA portal.

The first three tasks are managed at the bank level, while the fourth task is completed at the Jana Seva Kendra or Mo Seva Kendra.

Pending Beneficiaries: Over 2.5 lakh eligible beneficiaries have not completed the necessary steps, such as enabling DBT or completing biometric eKYC. A list of these beneficiaries is available at various administrative levels and on the SUBHADRA portal.

Next Steps for Pending Beneficiaries: Eligible beneficiaries who haven’t received the benefit should check the list and complete the required steps. They will receive their first installment before March 8, and the second installment on March 8.
