A tragic incident unfolded in Mahupadar village under Mathili police station in Malkangiri district, where a woman lost her life following a dispute over fish distribution.

The conflict began when Damu Durua and Laxmi Kalar, who had jointly released fish into a dam, clashed after Damu caught fish from the dam without informing Laxmi. The disagreement escalated, and this morning, Damu attacked Laxmi with an axe at her residence.

Laxmi, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to Mathili Hospital but succumbed to her injuries on the way. The police have arrested Damu Durua and are investigating the incident.

This shocking case has left the local community in disbelief, highlighting the devastating consequences of unresolved disputes.
