Police seized over 1287 bottles of banned cough syrup near Kudepali Chhak in Sambalpur district and arrested one person in this connection.
The accused has been identified as Satyabrata Mishra (33) of Themara village. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and he has been forwarded to the court.
Based on intelligence, the team of cops immediately blocked the road from Sadar police station to Kuchinda road. After raids, the cop seized the banned cough syrup bottles from the accused which were being transferred to West Bengal in a car.
Police investigation revealed that this transaction had been going on for about 4 years. There is a case related to cough syrup trafficking against the accused in the past.
