Odisha Police will host the Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition at Unit–III Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneswar, to raise public awareness about historic reforms in India’s criminal justice system.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the exhibition on March 6, 2026. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will also attend the event. The exhibition will remain open to the public from March 7 to March 10.

DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania announced that the exhibition will highlight the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), which came into effect on July 1, 2024. These laws replace colonial-era penal codes, shifting the focus from “punishment” to “justice.”

The reforms prioritise victims’ rights, timely investigation, and speedy trials. The principle “Delayed justice is denied justice” has been explicitly emphasised.

The exhibition will showcase digital evidence management through e-Sakshya, biometric identification via NAFIS, mobile forensic units, and technology-assisted investigations. Ten stalls approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs will demonstrate processes from crime scene to High Court, including police station operations, forensic labs, prosecution, district courts, prisons, and emergency services.

Displays will also cover police modernisation, women’s safety, anti-Maoist operations by the Special Operations Group (SOG), and disaster response by ODRAF. DGP Khurania said the exhibition reflects Odisha Police’s commitment to ensuring justice through science, technology, and citizen participation.
