Ahead of the upcoming Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, both the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will have crucial legislature party meetings today to finalise their strategies.
BJD Legislature Party Meeting
The BJD legislature party will meet at Shankha Bhawan at 5:00 PM under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik. Senior party MLAs are expected to discuss key priorities for the Budget Session, focusing on farmers’ concerns, implementation of welfare measures, and matters related to Pollution Under Control Certificates (PUCC). The party will also strategise coordinated participation and sector-specific responsibilities for legislators during Assembly debates.
BJP Legislature Party Meeting
Meanwhile, the BJP legislature party will convene in Room 54 of the Odisha Assembly, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The meeting will focus on the party’s Budget Session strategy, including responding effectively to opposition questions and highlighting governance and public welfare achievements. Senior party legislators will discuss floor strategy, policy interventions, and coordination during debates.
Preparing for Legislative Debate
Both parties will emphasise preparation, coordination, and proactive participation in the Assembly to ensure that key issues are raised effectively. These meetings reflect the high political stakes and anticipation surrounding the Budget Session, particularly on governance, agriculture, and regulatory matters.
Further updates are expected after the conclusion of both meetings.
