Malkangiri district witnessed a series of road accidents on January 29, leaving several people injured and claiming the life of a five-year-old girl.
In MV-42 village under Malkangiri Sadar police limits, a car lost control and rammed into the house of Bishu Das. The driver sustained injuries, and part of the house was damaged. Fortunately, the family members inside escaped unharmed.
Another accident occurred at Pandripani under Malkangiri police limits, where a car collided with a motorcycle. The crash killed a minor girl, identified as Sibani Padiami, aged five. Her father, Budura Padiami, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to medical care.
In a separate incident at Chalanguda, a car veered off the road and hit a tree. The driver and another passenger sustained critical injuries and were admitted to the hospital.
Police reached all accident sites and began investigations. The series of mishaps has raised concerns about road safety in the district, highlighting the urgent need for stricter traffic enforcement and awareness.
