A tragic accident in Bhadrak during the Odisha bandh claimed the life of a three-year-old boy and left his parents critically injured.
Reports said the family from Nishchintpur Malati Patana in Mayurbhanj district was travelling to Bhubaneswar on a motorcycle. Rajat Jena was riding the bike with his wife, Mili Singh and their son Akash seated behind. As they crossed Bhadrak town on National Highway-16 near Dahani Gadia Chhak, a pickup van collided with their motorcycle.
The impact threw Rajat and Mili under a bridge while Akash fell onto the road. Locals rescued the injured family and rushed them to Bhadrak Medical College and Hospital. Doctors declared Akash dead, while his parents remain in critical condition due to severe injuries.
The accident has created a sorrowful atmosphere in the area, with residents mourning the child’s death. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
