In a significant move to enhance the state’s law enforcement infrastructure, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated 14 newly constructed police stations across various districts of Odisha.

The inauguration ceremony was conducted virtually from the Nayapalli Police Station in Bhubaneswar.

The newly inaugurated police stations, built at a cost of Rs. 42 crore, are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including ramps for the differently-abled, conference rooms, suspect and witness examination rooms, wireless and communication rooms, modern warehouses, reception centers, and dedicated help desks for women and children. Additional modern facilities such as a children’s home, breastfeeding rooms, vehicle parking, data storage, 24-hour CCTV camera systems, fire extinguishers, and fire alarm bells have also been installed.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of these new police stations in maintaining law and order in the state. He urged officers and employees to provide dedicated and friendly services to the public, especially to those who come to the police stations in distress. The Chief Minister also announced plans to provide high-quality Mahindra Scorpio vehicles and additional motorbikes to all police stations to aid in crime control and law enforcement.

The Chief Minister concluded with a stern warning to police officers and employees to treat the public well and to take immediate action on complaints. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing the necessary resources, training, and infrastructure to make police personnel more effective.

This move marks a significant step towards modernizing and improving the efficiency of Odisha’s police force, ensuring better services for the citizens.

The event was attended by Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Ekamra-Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, Pallahara MLA Ashok Mohanty, and other MPs, MLAs, and public representatives from various districts.

Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania delivered the welcome address, and Commissioner of Police S. Devdutt Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
