Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has pledged to carry forward the dream program of the late Biju Patnaik, a revered leader and former CM of Odisha.

Speaking on the 109th birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik, Chief Minister Majhi paid tribute to the legendary leader’s statue at the State Assembly premises.

“Biju Babu’s contribution to the progress of Odisha is unparalleled. He was a pioneer in bringing industry to Odisha and formulating a forward-looking industrial policy. His dream was for Odisha to move forward, and we will take forward the program of that dream,” said Chief Minister Majhi.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government would continue to honor Biju Patnaik’s legacy and ensure that his vision for a prosperous Odisha is realized. “Biju Babu will be given due respect as the son of Odisha,” he added.

BJP State President Manmohan Samal echoed the Chief Minister’s sentiments, stating that Biju Patnaik is the son of the nation and will be given the honor he deserves. Despite the state government discontinuing the celebration of Panchayati Raj Day on Biju’s Jayanti, state-level celebrations were held to pay tribute to Biju Babu.

In the morning, Chief Minister Majhi, Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, and Minister Rabinarayan Nayak paid their respects to Biju Patnaik. A state-level Jayanti ceremony was held at Jayadev Bhavan in the evening, with Prasanna Acharya from BJD being the sole representative present at the assembly premises.

Chief Minister Majhi also took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his admiration for Biju Patnaik, stating that his contributions to the welfare of the people and the development of the state were always inspiring. Biju Patnaik will be remembered as a politician, freedom fighter, and nationalist leader.
