A 22-year-old Bengaluru professional sparked a massive online conversation after posting a candid video about his decision to quit his full-time job. The video, shared by Aanshul Uthaiah on Instagram, quickly went viral and resonated with young working professionals facing similar workplace dissatisfaction.
In his video captioned “Sunday Ramblings,” Uthaiah said, “I am quitting my job tomorrow and I have no clue what I am going to do.” Expressing frustration, he added that he disliked both his work and his current life situation.
Uthaiah, who works full-time in Bengaluru while creating content on Instagram, revealed that he had been admitted to two universities in Australia for higher studies but did not feel motivated to pursue either option. “I find my job very boring. It’s got to my head so much that I really can’t do it anymore. I feel like I am wasting my time,” he said.
He also noted that his parents were not supportive of his decision to quit a stable job without a clear plan.
Despite his uncertainty, the viral video proved to be a turning point for his online presence. Uthaiah, who had around 10,000 followers before posting the clip, saw his follower count surge to over 20,000 in less than 48 hours. The video has now crossed two million views. A fitness enthusiast, he frequently uploads workout videos and began content creation just three months ago.
Next-Day Update: ‘I Am Scared’
Following the overwhelming response, Uthaiah shared another video revealing his mixed emotions. Recording the update on Monday morning but posting it the next day, he said, “It’s 7:45 am and I have to go to work by 10 am, and I am scared. I don’t know what to do. I am having second thoughts.”
He admitted that fear of losing financial stability was holding him back, even though he felt unfulfilled in his current role. “My brain is telling me to take more time to decide. But there’s also a part of me saying just go for it,” he shared.
Support From the Internet
His honesty struck a chord with audiences, and the comments section flooded with encouragement. One user joked that “Bengaluru’s cold and gloomy weather” was responsible for his Sunday blues, while many others offered heartfelt advice.
“Brother, full support from my end and a big shoutout to you!” wrote one commenter.
Another added, “You cannot reach somewhere and be someone unless you leave behind where you are and who you are right now.”
