The Sports Ministry has scheduled a crucial meeting on December 3 to address the ongoing deadlock in Indian domestic football.

The ministry has invited the All India Football Federation (AIFF), Indian Super League (ISL) clubs, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), and other stakeholders to the headquarters of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in New Delhi.

Officials confirmed that six separate meetings will take place during the day. The schedule includes discussions with ISL clubs, I-League and lower division clubs, FSDL, prospective commercial partners, and broadcasters or OTT platforms. The day will conclude with a joint conference involving all stakeholders. Except for the meeting with I-League and lower division clubs, all sessions will be held in person.

The ministry also requested representatives from KPMG India Services LLP, the transaction advisor, to attend the meetings and provide clarifications.

The 2025–26 season of men’s domestic football remains uncertain. Several top-flight clubs, including reigning ISL champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant, have suspended first-team operations. The Master Rights Agreement (MRA) between FSDL and AIFF expires this month, and the Request for Proposal (RFP) for a new commercial partner has failed to attract bids.

In response, AIFF approached the Supreme Court with representation from ISL clubs. The clubs also met the Sports Minister to press for urgent intervention.

Earlier, ISL clubs discussed broadcast options at the Football House, with Doordarshan emerging as a possible partner for the upcoming season. Broadcasters are expected to participate in Wednesday’s meeting at SAI headquarters.
