Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound grief over the explosion that occurred in Delhi this evening, which resulted in the tragic loss of civilian lives.

Strongly condemning the incident, the Chief Minister described it as an inhuman act that India has never tolerated and will not tolerate in the future.

Majhi voiced confidence in the central government’s response, stating that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a thorough investigation will be conducted, ensuring the perpetrators are brought to justice.

In the wake of the blast, the Chief Minister held a telephonic discussion with the Director General of Police and issued directives to implement comprehensive security measures across Odisha. He emphasised the need for heightened vigilance, particularly with ongoing festivals like the Bali Yatra, urging police forces to remain fully alert.

Additionally, Majhi instructed authorities to strengthen security protocols in major cities and sensitive locations throughout the state to prevent any potential threats.

The incident has underscored the importance of national unity and robust safety measures in the face of such cowardly acts, as per the Chief Minister’s office.

In light of the recent explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, the Central range and Cuttack districts have been placed on high alert. Authorities have instructed all districts to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions.

The police department encourages citizens to report any suspicious activities or objects immediately.

High Alert in Puri

In the aftermath of the incident near the iconic Red Fort, a high alert has been issued in Puri, a globally renowned pilgrimage and tourist destination. Puri SP Prateek Singh has confirmed the alert.

Under SP Singh’s directives, security arrangements around the Jagannath Temple have been significantly tightened. Senior police officials were seen patrolling the temple’s perimeter to ensure safety and vigilance.
