Odisha Police has launched a comprehensive cybersecurity awareness campaign across the state, deploying 16 specially equipped “Cyber Raths” to educate the public in both urban and rural areas.

These mobile units, fitted with LED panels displaying engaging video messages, are designed to attract attention, particularly from students, fostering greater interest and vigilance in cyber safety.

To date, the initiative has seen active participation from over 2.5 lakh citizens through various programs, including rallies, seminars, workshops, and public meetings. These efforts aim to build a secure digital environment by empowering communities to recognise and counter cyber threats.

The campaign was officially inaugurated on October 18, 2025, by the Chief Minister at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. During the event, the 16 Cyber Raths were flagged off, marking the beginning of this statewide drive.

All 33 police districts in Odisha are actively involved, organising awareness activities in cities and villages alike. More than 50 inaugural ceremonies have been held across districts, with workshops conducted in schools, colleges, and public spaces. Pamphlets on cybersecurity have been distributed at key locations, and LED panels continue to broadcast informative videos.

Notable highlights include a walkathon organised by the Puri district police, which drew thousands of participants to spread cyber awareness. In Mayurbhanj district, a large-scale program featured street plays on cybersecurity themes, performed with the help of local artists. Audiences responded enthusiastically, gaining valuable insights while enjoying the performances.

Balasore district recorded the highest turnout, with over 20,000 participants in its cybersecurity awareness event. Similarly, Kalahandi saw more than 15,000 citizens join in, and Sambalpur engaged over 12,000 people. Attendees praised the police’s role in making these programs successful and impactful.

This initiative underscores Odisha Police’s commitment to proactive community engagement, ensuring that cybersecurity becomes a priority for every resident in the state.
