Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, continued his Europe visit with high-level engagements in Germany and Luxembourg on October 23–24, 2025.
After productive discussions at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Chancellery, he met Mr. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade of Luxembourg.
Both leaders reviewed the progress in India–Luxembourg economic relations and explored new avenues to boost bilateral trade. They also discussed Mr. Bettel’s upcoming State Visit to India and exchanged views on regional and global developments.
Shri Goyal also held one-on-one meetings with top German CEOs, including:
- Jochen Hanebeck (Infineon Technologies AG)
- Klaus Rosenfeld (Schaeffler Group)
- Michael Masur (Renk Vehicle Mobility)
- Martin Herrenknecht (Herrenknecht AG)
- Tobias Bischof-Niemz (Enertrag)
- Ola Kaellenius (Mercedes-Benz)
These discussions focused on expanding India–Germany business partnerships, especially in defence, energy, mobility, and emerging technologies. The CEOs expressed strong confidence in India’s investment climate and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic ties.
Later today, Shri Goyal will participate in a high-level panel on global trade at the Berlin Global Dialogue and continue engaging with German business leaders and industry associations.
