Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh has once again made headlines after his wife Jyoti Singh leveled serious allegations against him during a press conference.
According to Jyoti, Pawan Singh allegedly gave her abortion pills and subjected her to mental and physical harassment. She also claimed that the stress led her to take an overdose of sleeping pills.
Jyoti Singh’s Allegations
Speaking at a press event, Jyoti Singh questioned whether Pawan Singh genuinely wanted to start a family.
“He says he wanted a child, but a person who truly wants that doesn’t give his wife medication,” Jyoti said.
“I was given medicines repeatedly. I had not shared many things with the media before, but today I have to speak up. When I resisted, I was tortured so much that I took 25 sleeping pills at 2 a.m.,” she alleged.
She claimed that Pawan’s brother Ranu and a team member named Deepak took her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai, where she received treatment. Jyoti also alleged that Pawan “used to give her abortion pills.”
Pawan Singh’s Response
Responding to the controversy, Pawan Singh, who recently rejoined the BJP, said that the ongoing dispute has been in court for the last 3–4 years.
“Our case has been going on in court for years. Why show affection only today? What kind of affection is this? This seems more like politics meant to trouble me,” he told reporters, as quoted by ANI.
He further claimed that his wife’s recent statements were politically motivated and that she was trying to create unnecessary controversy.
Pawan clarified that the police presence at his residence was only to maintain law and order, and not because he had called them. “A misconception was spread that I called the police. That’s not true,” he said, adding that family matters should remain private.
The Ongoing Legal Dispute
The couple’s divorce case has been under judicial consideration for the past several years. The latest public altercation reportedly began when Jyoti Singh visited Pawan’s residence and broke down in front of the media.
Since then, the incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media and among fans of the Bhojpuri film industry.
