Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja today visited the Head Office of the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) and the Gadakana Electric Bus Depot to review the ongoing public transport operations and the expanding electric bus network in Bhubaneswar.

During his visit, Ahuja engaged with bus crew members, guides, and technical staff to understand their experiences and the challenges they face in providing smooth, safe, and reliable public transport services.

At the CRUT Command and Control Centre, he assessed the real-time monitoring system, data analytics, and schedule optimization processes that contribute to improved punctuality, efficiency, and commuter satisfaction.

Ahuja praised CRUT’s initiatives, commending the team’s innovative use of digital technology in managing public transport. He encouraged them to uphold high service standards and continue promoting green mobility solutions. Additionally, he stressed the importance of expanding electric bus operations to create a cleaner and more sustainable urban transport system.

CRUT Managing Director Dr. N. Thirumala Naik briefed the Chief Secretary on ongoing operations and upcoming initiatives.

In attendance were General Managers Sanjaya Biswal and Sahadeb Samadhia, along with senior CRUT officials. Officials noted that this visit underscores the State Government’s strong commitment to smart, efficient, and eco-friendly urban mobility solutions for citizens.
