In response to violent incidents that disrupted public order, a citywide curfew has been imposed in Cuttack. Authorities have deployed 50 to 60 platoons of police forces to restore calm and ensure safety across key intersections and marketplaces.
Police Commissioner S. Devdatta Singh confirmed that three FIRs have been registered and arrests are underway. CCTV footage has played a critical role in identifying the miscreants involved in the unrest. ADG Sanjay Kumar stated that all the accused have been identified and will face strict legal action.
Additional Police Commissioner Narasingha Bhol appealed to citizens to avoid gatherings and assist law enforcement efforts.
Despite the curfew, essential services such as hospitals, petrol pumps, medicine stores, grocery shops, government offices, and SCB Medical College remain operational.
Authorities have assured that the situation is under control and urged residents to remain indoors unless necessary. The police have intensified surveillance and are maintaining a strong presence throughout the city.
