New Delhi: While India is reeling under the second wave of coronavirus pandemic, statistics maintained by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), as many as 594 doctors have martyred across India due to Covid-19 in the second wave and 22 of them were from Odisha. The actual numbers may be higher as the doctors association only keeps a record of doctors registered with it.
Of the 594 doctors consumed by Covid-19 in India, 107 have died in Delhi, 96 in Bihar, 67 in the UP, 43 doctors have died in Rajasthan followed by 39 in Jharkhand, 32 each in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 31 in Gujarat, 25 in West Bengal and 22 in Odisha.
Further according to the IMA, 21 doctors have martyred in Covid-19 fight in Tamil Nadu, 17 in Maharashtra, 16 in Madhya Pradesh, 8 each in Assam and Karnataka, 5 each in Kerala and Manipur, 3 each in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, 2 each in Goa, Tripura and Uttarakhand, and 1 each in Pondicherry and Unknownne
