Punjab & Sind Bank Executive Director Ravi Mehra met with Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja today to discuss the bank’s ambitious expansion plans aimed at bolstering its presence in the state.
The courtesy call highlighted the bank’s commitment to enhancing financial services and supporting Odisha’s developmental goals.
During the meeting, Mehra outlined Punjab & Sind Bank’s roadmap for Odisha, which includes the addition of 20 new branches and the establishment of a Zonal Office in Bhubaneswar during the Financial Year 2025–26. With 30 operational branches already in the state, this expansion will significantly strengthen the bank’s outreach and operational capabilities.
Mehra emphasised the bank’s active role in supporting key government schemes in Odisha, particularly in agriculture, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), food processing, and the promotion of self-help groups (SHGs). He assured the Chief Secretary that the bank’s support for these sectors would be further reinforced in the coming years. Aligning with the state’s vision of “Viksit Odisha 2036” and the national goal of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” Mehra reiterated the bank’s commitment to contributing to Odisha’s economic and social development.
In response, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja assured the bank of full support from the Odisha government for its initiatives, including the establishment of new branches and the Zonal Office. The meeting was also attended by Vinay Khandelwal, Zonal Manager of Punjab & Sind Bank’s Vijayawada Zone.
This strategic expansion underscores Punjab & Sind Bank’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion and driving economic growth in Odisha, aligning with the state’s and the nation’s long-term developmental aspirations.
