Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is taking all necessary precautions to tackle the possible impact of Cyclone Yaas, which is likely to make landfall between Paradip and Sagar Island on the evening of May 26. Keeping in view, the Water Resources Department has cancelled the leave of all employees.
Talking to the media persons, Jyotirmaya Rath, Water Resources Department Engineer-in-Chief (EIC), said leave of all officials have been cancelled and employees have been asked not to leave the headquarters till further orders.
Rath further stated that 10 districts likely to be affected by the storm have been warned and a special team formed for this purpose. Work will be done in collaboration with the district administration, he added.
Besides, a 24-hour control room has also been set up, Rath further said.
