The Election Commission of India has directed a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral roll under Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, for the 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency, where a bye-election is expected soon.
The revision will be conducted with reference to July 1, 2025, as the qualifying date.
According to the schedule released by the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, the re-arrangement and modification of polling stations must be completed by September 14, 2025. The integrated draft electoral roll will be published on September 15, followed by a two-week window for filing claims and objections, from September 15 to September 29.
All claims and objections will be disposed of by October 7, and the final publication of the electoral roll is scheduled for October 9, 2025.
This revision aims to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the updated roll ahead of the upcoming bye-election. Citizens are encouraged to verify their details and participate actively in the process to strengthen democratic participation.
