Sambalpur: Railways took the movement of Oxygen Express as a challenge to combat the prevailing crisis and transported Liquid Medical Oxygen successfully to different corners of the country from the steel Plants for life savings of the patients and to fight the second wave of COVID-19.
Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railway has given highest priority to ensure safe & faster movement of oxygen Special within its jurisdiction by creating green corridor, so that this will reach at the earliest in the destinations to save the life of patients.
Twenty nos. of oxygen express trains have been passed through Sambalpur Division smoothly to different places like, Nagpur (Maharashtra), Secunderabad (Telangana), Faridabad (Haryana), Tiruvallur (Tamilnadu) & Delhi area etc., till 14th May, 2021.
The green corridor is created for the faster movement of the oxygen express trains and monitoring of movement is being done at the apex level to provide best service to our Nation at this time of Covid-19 pandemic crisis. Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Pradeep Kumar advised all concerned of the Division for running of these Special Trains on top most priority to save the life of patients across the country. Apart from this, The Division has also arranged food and drinking water to escort staff of oxygen express.
