Tata Motors has announced a major price reduction across its entire passenger vehicle portfolio, with cuts of up to Rs 1.45 lakh following the recent GST rate revision.

The new prices will take effect from September 22, 2025, coinciding with the start of the festive season and the first day of Navaratri.

The decision follows the GST Council’s move earlier this week to rationalise tax slabs, bringing most passenger vehicles under a reduced 18% GST rate.

Model-Wise Price Reductions:

  • Tiago: Up to Rs 75,000

  • Tigor: Up to Rs 80,000

  • Altroz: Up to Rs 1.10 lakh

  • Punch: Up to Rs 85,000

  • Nexon: Up to Rs 1.55 lakh

  • Curvv: Up to Rs 65,000

  • Harrier: Up to Rs 1.40 lakh

  • Safari: Up to Rs 1.45 lakh (biggest price drop)

Company Statement:

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, hailed the GST rate cut as a “progressive and timely decision.”

“This move will make personal mobility more accessible for millions across India. Our popular range of cars and SUVs will now be within reach of more customers, enabling first-time buyers and accelerating the shift towards new-age mobility,” he said.

Impact on Market:

Industry analysts predict that the price cut, coupled with festive offers, will significantly boost demand for passenger cars and SUVs, especially in the budget and mid-size SUV segments.

The reduction is expected to benefit buyers of petrol, LPG, and CNG vehicles under 1,200 cc (up to 4,000 mm length) and diesel vehicles under 1,500 cc (up to 4,000 mm length), which now fall under the 18% GST bracket.
