The Indian men’s hockey team is set to take on reigning champion South Korea in its opening Super 4s match of the Asia Cup 2025, marking a crucial step in its campaign to secure a spot in the World Cup.

Despite India’s dominant 15–0 win over Kazakhstan and a strong pool-stage performance, coach Craig Fulton emphasized the need for renewed focus. “This is a new tournament now. We have three games to reach the final,” he said, acknowledging Korea’s aggressive style and risk-taking approach.

India, ranked 7th in the world, will be cautious not to underestimate Korea, currently ranked 15th, especially given their last Asia Cup encounter ended in a 4–4 draw. A convincing win here could pave the way for India’s redemption and a strong push toward the title.
