After the horrific murder of a youth rocked the entire Bhubaneswar this morning, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has announced that no culprits can escape after committing crimes and strict action will be taken.
While the State Capital is under a thick security blanket for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, a young man was beheaded by sword-wielding miscreants on the National Highway between Rasulgarh-Vani Vihar road raising serious concerns over the rising crime in the city.
Responding to media queries about the brutal murder, the Law Minister said, “No one can escape law…The police are investigating the murder case and the culprits will definitely be caught.”
“In the previous government, the culprits were fleeing after committing crimes, right under the nose of the police. But, now no criminal can escape as our government has a very strict policy,” he added.
It is believed that the murder took place at around 7:30 am when Sahadeva Nayak of Kedarpalli area was moving on a scooter near the rail over the bridge.
Nayak was the president of Safai Karmachari Sangh in the city. The deceased’s wife has filed a murder complaint alleging that her husband was beheaded for opposing the brown sugar trade.
The police have started an investigation into the incident starting with checking the CCTV footage to trace the culprits.
