Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to address the rising unemployment in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has announced the creation of 75,000 jobs over the next two years. This initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to stimulate economic growth and development in the state.
During a press conference, CM Majhi outlined the plan, which includes filling 20,000 vacant teaching positions. “A total of 75,000 jobs across various sectors will be generated in the state within two years, and the process has already begun,” he stated. The recruitment drive aims to enhance educational standards and provide employment opportunities for the youth.
The announcement comes amidst criticism of the previous administration’s lack of developmental efforts. Majhi emphasized the need for basic infrastructure in many villages, highlighting that several communities still lack essential services such as water supply and adequate educational facilities. “There are many villages that lack basic infrastructure. Some schools operate with only one teacher or none at all,” he added.
The Chief Minister described this initiative as a historic step towards reducing unemployment and fostering development in the region. The government has committed to conducting the recruitment process transparently to ensure fairness and efficiency.
