Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha has pledged to expedite the return of funds to investors defrauded in various chit fund scams. State BJP President Manmohan Samal criticized the previous administration for failing to ensure these refunds and assured that the new BJP government is committed to addressing this issue promptly.
Speaking to reporters, Samal emphasized that efforts are underway to facilitate the reimbursement process. “We are actively considering all necessary steps to ensure that the duped investors receive their money back as soon as possible,” he stated. The government is also evaluating the possibility of making the Commission’s report public to ensure transparency in the process.
Samal’s statements have provided a glimmer of hope to many investors who have been waiting for justice for years. The opposition, however, remains skeptical. Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Prasanna Acharya, remarked, “The BJP government claims to be contemplating various measures, but concrete actions are yet to be seen. Making statements alone is not enough.”
