Udaipur: In a celebration of love and tradition, India’s badminton star PV Sindhu tied the knot with Venkat Datta at the luxurious Raffles Resort in Udaipur on Sunday. The intimate yet grand wedding was a star-studded affair, attended by family, friends, and notable personalities from the sports and entertainment worlds.
The wedding festivities began earlier in the week with a vibrant Sangeet ceremony on December 20, followed by traditional Haldi, Pellikuthuru, and Mehendi ceremonies. The couple embraced their cultural roots with elegance and joy, making the wedding weekend an unforgettable event for all involved.
Sindhu, known for her grace on the badminton court, looked stunning in a cream-colored saree, while Venkat Datta complemented her in a traditional outfit. The ceremony took place at 11:20 PM, with Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat sharing the first photo of the newlyweds on social media, extending his wishes and blessings to the couple.
The celebrations are set to continue with a grand reception in Hyderabad on December 24. Sindhu’s father revealed that the families have known each other for years, and the wedding arrangements came together in just a month, perfectly timed with Sindhu’s training and competition schedule for the upcoming year.
