Manoj Bajpayee and Ram Gopal Varma are reuniting after their iconic 1998 film, Satya, in which Manoj’s portrayal of Bhiku Mhatre became unforgettable. In a recent session, Manoj shared that they are collaborating on a project together. The actor has previously partnered with RGV in films such as Kaun (199), Shool (1999), and Road (2002).
Discussing the reunion, Manoj stated, “The good news is that he is going to make his next film with me. We are trying to find some time and figure out dates. He is not off the radar; he was merely taking a long break and enjoying himself We all envied him for the way he relaxedManoj Bajpayee reflected on his iconic character, Bhiku Mhatre, from Satya, and contemplated whether it overshadowed his other roles. He mentioned that it could have, had he not ventured into different roles and genres “It would have, had I not taken a different path by exploring various roles and genres. With such success or recognition, it wouldn’t have been easy for any actor to move on. For three years, I was solely identified as Bhiku Mhatre. It was only after Shool, Kaun, and Zubeidaa that audiences began to distinguish the actor from the character. This shift occurred due to my continuous pursuit of different types of films and completely contrasting roles. Fortunately, all of those roles turned out to be quite memorable,” he expressed.
Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming film, Despatch, is set to premiere on ZEE5 on December 13. In this movie, he portrays an investigative journalist who uncovers a significant financial scam, which recently premiered at the International Film Festival of India.
Last seen in Bhaiyya Ji, Manoj Bajpayee is preparing for the release of Kanu Bahl’s highly anticipated Despatch, which will debut at IFFI 2024.
