Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern over the cloudburst and subsequent flooding that struck Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, leaving several areas inundated and communities distressed.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shri Modi conveyed solidarity with those affected by the natural calamity and assured that the Union Government is closely monitoring the situation. “Every effort is being made to provide timely assistance to the impacted families,” he affirmed.
Emergency response teams have been mobilised to carry out rescue and relief operations in the region. The Prime Minister emphasised that central agencies are working in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir administration to ensure swift rehabilitation and support for those displaced.
The cloudburst, which triggered flash floods and landslides, has caused significant damage to infrastructure and disrupted normal life in the affected areas. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage and prioritising the restoration of essential services.
The Prime Minister’s reassurance comes as part of a broader commitment to stand by citizens during times of crisis and ensure that no effort is spared in mitigating the impact of natural disasters.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said:
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the cloudburst and flooding in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. The situation is being monitored closely. Rescue and relief operations are underway. Every possible assistance will be provided to those in need.”
