Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently lauded Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for his grassroots engagement and reminisced about the enjoyable moments shared with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the recent Odisha Parba-2024 in New Delhi.
During a public address, Modi highlighted the significant changes observed by the people of Odisha following the establishment of the BJP government. “Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has been visiting various parts of the state to assess the conditions firsthand. It is unprecedented for the rural populace to witness their chief minister making visits to the villages,” he stated.
The Prime Minister elaborated, “We have been committed to the development of Odisha even in the absence of our government. The budget for Odisha was tripled, new initiatives were launched, and the people were served without bias. Consequently, the citizens became acquainted with the BJP’s principles and governance, placing their trust in us wholeheartedly.”
Recalling his brief attendance at the Odisha Parba, Modi said, “Just five days ago, I had the pleasure of participating in the magnificent event where I enjoyed a cup of aromatic masala tea. I playfully chided Dharmendra (Union Minister), wishing for more time to explore. It was an exceptional celebration.”
He credited Pradhan for the opportunity to engage with the public in the state’s capital during his visit to the DGP conference. Feeling honoured to be in the abode of Lord Lingaraj, the Prime Minister expressed his reverence, “I pay my respects to Lord Jagannath as well.”
