According to the India Meteorological Department, a new spell of intense rain is anticipated to sweep the state over the next three days due to a low-pressure system over the west-central bordering northwest Bay of Bengal and the surrounding north Andhra Pradesh–south Odisha coast.
Within the next 12 hours, the system is predicted to intensify into a clearly defined low-pressure area, according to the regional weather office. Rainfall that started on Wednesday has continued unabated under its influence, and today is expected to bring moderate to heavy showers throughout the entire state.
For the districts of Koraput and Malkangiri, the Met office has issued an orange signal, warning of heavy to very severe rainfall with a range of 7 to 20 cm. A yellow signal for severe rain has been issued for the remaining 28 districts. There may also be gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph.
