North Delhi Strikers captain Harshit Rana has been fined 10% of his match fees for an aggressive send-off directed at West Delhi Lions batter Ayush Doseja during Match 19 of the Delhi Premier League 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The incident occurred in the third over of West Delhi’s chase of 166, when Rana bowled a blistering delivery that shattered Doseja’s stumps and even dislodged the bail. Rana then gestured provocatively toward the batter, prompting disciplinary action under Article 2.5 of the DPL Code of Conduct.
The DPL confirmed that Rana admitted to a Level 1 offence, which includes gestures or language that could provoke an aggressive reaction. “Harshit Rana has been fined 10% of the match fees for breaching the Adani Delhi Premier League T20 Code of Conduct,” the league stated.
Despite the controversy, Rana’s performance was pivotal in North Delhi’s 11-run victory. He picked up three wickets, while teammates Deepanshu Gulia and Sarthak Rajan also contributed significantly.
