Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Odisha Vigilance conducted simultaneous raids on the office, residence and properties of Satyaprakash Swain, Ex-Jail Superintendent of Jharpada Jail, Bhubaneswar. The raids were carried out at seven places including Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, and Keonjhar. The investigation is led by 12 DSPs and 11 Inspectors based on search warrants from Special Judge, Vigilance.
The raid teams are conducting searches at seven places in, Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, and Keonjhar.
1. Residential house no – LB 104 over plot 912, khata 1072, Govindprasad, Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar.
2. Parental house at Plot B-53, Siddhi Vihar, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar.
3. Native village of Swain at Narsinghpur, Dhusuri, Bhadrak.
4. Government quarters occupied by Swain at Qr no – D-1, Special jail Colony, Jharpada, Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar.
5. Government quarters of Jail Superintendent, Keonjhar inside Jail campus, Keonjhar.
6. Office room of Swain, Superintendent of Jail, Keonjhar.
7. House of his relative at House no EB-355, Jharpada, Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sri Swain and his family members;
1. One four storeyed residential building over plot at LB No-104 with area approx 3300 sqft worth about Rs.1.5 crore at Jharpada, Bhubaneswar.
2.4 high value homestead plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, Bolangir, and Dhenkanal.Details as under.
i. A piece of land vide plot no-152/619, Khata no-165/2015 at Dhauli, BBSR.
ii. A piece of land vide plot no -210, Khata no-730 at Sagarpada, Bolangir town.
iii. Another plot atno- 443 at Sagarpada, Bolangir town.
iv. One plot vide no-443 at Mahisapata, Dhenkanal.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
3. Bank, Insurance & Postal deposits and other investments etc. are being ascertained.
4. 1 four wheeler & 1 two wheeler.
