The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has pledged to provide Rs 8.5 crore to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the Paris Olympics 2024.
BCCI President Jay Shah announced the financial support for the Indian athletes who will be competing in the upcoming summer Olympic Games in Paris.
In a gesture of solidarity, the BCCI has offered their backing to the IOA, as the Indian team aims to achieve Olympic success. A contingent of 117 Indian athletes is set to depart for Paris to take part in the 2024 Olympics.
Extending his wishes to the Indian athletes to do well and make the nation proud, Jay Shah wrote on ‘X’:⇓
I am proud to announce that the BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign.

The Indian contingent at the Paris Olympics will comprise 47 female and 70 male athletes. The largest group is the track and field athletes, numbering 29, followed by 21 shooters. Mirabai Chanu, the weightlifter who secured a silver medal at the 2021 Tokyo Games, will be India’s sole representative in the sport. Additionally, there will be just one athlete each for Equestrian, Judo, and Rowing. The team will include 67 coaches and 72 other support staff, accompanying the athletes to the Paris Olympics.
