Amid a spate of violent assaults targeting members of the Indian community, the Indian Embassy in Ireland has urged Indian nationals to remain vigilant and avoid isolated areas, particularly during late hours.

In a statement posted on X, the embassy said:

“There has been an increase in the instances of physical attacks reported against Indian citizens in Ireland recently. The Embassy is in touch with the authorities concerned of Ireland in this regard. All Indian citizens in Ireland are advised to take reasonable precautions for their personal security and avoid deserted areas, especially in odd hours.”

The embassy has also issued emergency contact details for those in need:

  • Phone: +353 8994 23734

  • Email: cons.dublin@mea.gov.in

Alarming String of Incidents

The advisory follows several recent attacks believed to have racial motivations.

In Tallaght, a 40-year-old Indian man was brutally assaulted last month. Local resident Jennifer Murray, who came to his aid, said in a widely shared video that at least four Indian men and another man had been stabbed in the face by a gang of teenagers in the preceding days. She claimed the assaults had gone largely unreported in Irish media.

Another victim, Santosh Yadav, 32, suffered a fractured cheekbone and multiple injuries after being attacked by six teenagers near his Dublin apartment on July 27. Yadav described the attack as unprovoked and reflective of a growing wave of racist violence.

Diplomatic Engagement

The Indian Embassy confirmed it is in contact with Irish authorities and monitoring developments closely. The mission also encouraged victims and witnesses to report incidents promptly and seek consular assistance.
