Bargarh: The blood-soaked body of a person was found on the roadside at Mandosili village under Paikamal police limits in Bargarh district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Pinku Kumar Sahoo (37) of Mandosili village. He was running a hotel on rent in front of the Nuapada tehsil office.
As per reports, last night at around 9 p.m., some miscreants attacked Pinku at a farm on Bhutamunda road near Mandosili village with deadly weapons and fled from the spot. There, Pinku was left in a critical condition in the mud of the farmland.
Upon receiving information, Pinku’s family members reached the spot and rescued him in critical condition. He was rushed to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, police reached the scene and launched an investigation into the matter. It is suspected that Pinku was murdered due to his involvement in ganja smuggling.
