In a bid to advance inclusive urban development, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on Tuesday conducted a transparent lottery draw to allot homes to 38 beneficiaries under its Affordable Housing Projects (AHP) and In-situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) schemes.

🔑 Key Highlights

  • 🏡 24 beneficiaries allotted units in Barunei Enclave AHP, Subudhipur
  • 🏢 9 beneficiaries under Santi Nagar Awas Yojana (Keshari Residency)
  • 🏠 5 beneficiaries under Nilamadhab Awas scheme, Chandrasekharpur

The event took place at the BDA office in the presence of BDA Vice-Chairman Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, who emphasised the agency’s mission to uplift marginalised communities through secure housing and basic services.

“We aim to provide more than just shelter — our goal is to ensure a better quality of life with access to essential infrastructure and basic services,” said Dr. Naik.

📊 Lottery Transparency & Oversight

  • Process supervised by Independent Observer Dr. Susama Barik, Secretary-cum-GM, Boyanika
  • Beneficiaries picked tokens from a transparent box
  • Key officials present: BDA Secretary Manas Ranjan Padhi and Additional Commissioner (Estate-II) Manoj Kumar Swain

Each beneficiary is required to contribute ₹1.50 lakh under the AHP scheme to secure their allocated flat.

🏙️ Transformative Impact

This initiative reaffirms BDA’s commitment to relocating slum populations into formal housing and improving urban living standards.

The allotment is expected to bring dignity and infrastructure access to families currently living in informal settlements.
