Bhubaneswar: Following the incidence of ink hurling on Odisha PCC president Sarat Pattanayak, the Congress expelled five local workers for six years.
In a brazen incident at Congress Bhawan, ink was thrown at Sarat Pattanayak, President of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), on Friday. Sources reported that a group of youths entered his chamber and hurled ink at him before swiftly leaving the premises.
Allegedly, dissatisfied Congress workers targeted Pattanayak due to grievances over irregularities in ticket distribution for the General Elections to Assembly and Lok Sabha seats.
Addressing the media post-incident, Pattanayak expressed resilience, citing his long-standing political career and stating that such incidents are commonplace in politics. He affirmed his commitment to raising issues against the government and highlighted ongoing protests regarding the NEET paper leak issue.
