Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for approving the proposal to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 14 Kharif crops, including paddy and cotton. The Cabinet meeting, chaired by the PM on Wednesday, resulted in this significant decision.
In the interest of farmers across the country, CM Majhi welcomed the Prime Minister’s move. He emphasized that the farmers of Odisha would particularly benefit from this decision.
The Union Cabinet in its first meeting on Wednesday approved the MSP for 14 Kharif season crops including paddy, ragi, bajra, jowar, maize and cotton.
Notably, on Tuesday, PM Modi authorized the release of the 17th instalment of PM Kisan Nidhi, providing financial support to around 9.26 crore beneficiary farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer.
