In a major move ahead of the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has announced a comprehensive review to include 1.88 lakh women beneficiaries who were previously left out of the scheme.

The review process was formally launched at Sunny Vihar Anganwadi Centre in Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur and the Women & Child Development Department (W&CD).

As part of this initiative, feedback will be gathered from approximately 22,000 women across various regions of the state over the next month. Volunteers from the National Service Scheme (NSS) and other social service groups will assist in data collection.

“The third installment will be disbursed on Raksha Bandhan, and we are taking every step to ensure that all eligible women are included,” said Deputy CM Parida. She added that the modalities for fund disbursement to the previously excluded women will be finalized within the next few days.

Once the review is complete, the state government will also begin accepting new applications for future inclusion under the Subhadra scheme.

The Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women across Odisha through financial support, saw over 1.83 lakh beneficiaries excluded from its second installment, sparking concern and calls for reform in implementation.
